Shae and Grammy

Dear Mom,

You gave me life, nurtured and cared for me, you held my hand when I was afraid and bandaged my wounds when I was hurt.  You wiped my tears when I cried and you loved me without question.

Although I don't remember the first time you held me in your arms or when I first heard your voice, I know that from that first moment you have made the most selfless choices.  Never once did you complain, you took everything in stride, accepting everything that happened with undying hope that things would get better. I didn't always understand or appreciate everything you did and I wish I had shown you the respect that you deserved.

Now, as an adult, I can reflect with such admiration and love on the wonderful woman and mother you were then and still are today.  I love how you always make me laugh, sometimes without even trying, and I love your positive attitude.  You are my inspiration and truly my role model.

I find myself still depending on you for comfort, support and wisdom.  Even though you are not always right beside me, I still know I can always count on you.  Sometimes I feel I need you more now than I ever have, I truly don't know what I would do without you.

There will never be enough gratitude to offer or a means to repay you.  I could not have asked for a better mother, as a little girl you gave me everything I needed and more.  Now as an adult, I could not  ask for a better friend.  I am proud to call you my mother and my best friend.  I hope that you always know how much I love you.  Thank you for all you have done and all you have given of yourself.

Thank you for being my mother.
With Love by RMacLean.
